Unlike other fundraisers where registration is open up to the date of the event, we must have our participants selected due to the minimum fundraising goal. If we are going to set a new world record, all fundraisers must be successful.
We will set the fundraising start and end dates as well as the event date after 300 participants have been selected. We want each fundraiser to have the same allotted time to reach the minimum $200 goal.

I have been corresponding with Guinness concerning the record designation. In order to attempt a world record, you must apply and wait for approval and their guidelines. This category is presently monitored, so I’m sure we will receive the guidelines for that record attempt. Now we have to wait for their response, which can take up to fifteen weeks. We will not open up registration for this event until all 300 participants have been selected. Submit your invitation request today!
The invitation and selection process is ongoing. If you are selected, you can begin lining up your sponsors ahead of registration.

I have not received anything from Guinness as of this date. I am looking for their response by the end of the month.

There is still no word from Guinness. As a promotional experiment, I placed a small poster and cards in selected businesses to gauge potential participation. After one month I received zero responses. This was very enlightening as well as disappointing. Maybe people are just not interested in participating in a mass gathering. Maybe they don’t care if the tiger survives or not. If we can get no interest, then this event cannot move forward.
I have now listed this event as unscheduled. Please use our invitation form if you would like to be considered for participation.

I just received the official OK and guidelines from Guinness to hold the Tiger Mass Gathering record attempt. The Run for the Tiger 5K fun run/walk has been added to this event.

Guinness did not approve my application for a 5K tiger costume run, so I will keep the Tiger Mass Gathering and the 5K Fun Run/Walk as a combination. The new date for the event is Sunday, May 27, 2018.
